Youth Agencies Alliance invites you to attend the third annual YAA Ballpark Lunch, presented by The Winnipeg Foundation, raising funds to support our mission to enhance the work of the 16 youth-serving agencies that make up our Alliance.
One thing that unifies us as humans is our urge to feel as though we belong. Belonging can be found in different places for different individuals, but for tens of thousands of youth in our city, they find it at our agencies. For the agencies themselves, they find it within YAA.
“Every meeting there is an opportunity to share important happenings that affect our youth. There are many pressing challenges and it is important for us to all be on the same page.” – Jamil Mahmood, Executive Director, Spence Neighbourhood Association.
As an Alliance, we have a unique opportunity to bring people together. We regularly meet with staff of our agencies to discuss issues as noted above, or for professional development sessions, but we also offer programming that brings together the youth who attend our agencies. We need your support in order to ensure we are able to continue providing these supports and opportunities for our agencies and their youth.
This fundraising luncheon incorporates three key elements that help to build community: food, music, and a shared vision. The setting of Shaw Park adds to the livelihood of summers in downtown Winnipeg, with Clay Oven serving up another home run meal for our guests. The cherries on top are the youth from our agencies sharing their music with us. To make this a real success, we are asking for you, our partners and friends, to join us on August 15!
Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, The Winnipeg Foundation. We would also like to thank our wonderful Partners for this event: Sigurdson Financial, Assiniboine Credit Union, Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute, Camco Electric, and United Way of Winnipeg.
